Kombucha in India has largely lived inside a very narrow wellness bubble.
Something you drink for your gut, not necessarily because you genuinely crave it.
But when second-time entrepreneurs from Coimbatore, Somy and Sachin, started brewing kombucha themselves, they realized the category had drifted away from what kombucha was originally meant to be.
Not flavoured water with a splash of kombucha culture added in.
Not a health claim in a fancy bottle.
Real brew. Slow-fermented. Layered. Complex. Alive with flavour and fizz.
And that sparked a bigger thought.
Why should kombucha only belong in the “wellness drink” aisle?
